I've been working on the kit, " Quilted Village." There are 12 buildings in the kit and I have made it through seven. I would like to make at least one house without using my seam ripper! As with any kit I have ever made...there are fabrics that don't work in my opinion...but not much I can do about it from my Parisian sewing room. House building is a frustrating process...
This house bugs me the most...the rose colored windows are lost in the print used for the house...I will do some embroidery to outline them and fix that problem. Maybe appliqué some shutters...
I don't like the fabric for the Dutch duplexes either...and the brown strip is supposed to be used for appliquéing a tree trunk and branches...I'm going to try and use something else from the scraps of other kits.
Town Hall. The kit does include a pre-printed fabric flag to appliqué on a pole...it could look nice in the end.
Saltbox...I actually like this one.
Yesterday was Market Day. I spied a booth with French quilts for sale.
Back to building houses.

Market day, that sounds fun. Did you practice your fence with the quilter running the booth, or was the person running the both not who made them? I agree with these little houses. I'm not at all sure how that little pink floral print ended up with the solid pink windows. Maybe the attempt was matchy, and ended up blending...
I rarely buy kits as I normally do not care for all of the fabric that is in them and end up replacing with my own! looks like you are running into the same problem.
I think those are great. But I do agree the pink windows get lost. I do like the Dutch Duplexes though. That purple is funky ;-)
