I just had to join the party at Amy's Creative Side...she's hosting a Blogger's Quilt Festival. There are so many wonderful quilts to look at! Here's my entry. Spinning Bali Sea Stars which was inspired by Kim Brackett's quilt/block, Bali Sea Star.
When I first made all the blocks and put them on my design wall...
I realized there was a way to link the stars together...
this was one of two designs I came up with by playing on EQ7.
This is the other design I came up with but that meant ripping stars apart.
I did make this quilt though...
This beauty is my "IditaQuilt," made during the running of this year's Iditarod dog race.
Oops...I digress...as you can see Kim Brackett's block from the cover of her book really inspired me.

Those are gorgeous quilts. I love the EQ programs, but unfortunately, they won't run on my Macbook. I am seriously considering the idea of buying one of the very inexpensive windows laptops out there, just so I can run EQ software. But with all the quilts, UFO's and books I have here already, I haven't done it yet.
beautiful quilts! I have to say I do more designing on my EQ software then actually making of the quilts, but it is so much fun!
I just love how you opened the stars up and placed the bitty 4-point stars between. Gorgeous! And the blue quilt is beautiful. :) Nice quilting job as well.
Wow, there is just no other word. WOW, WOW, and your quilting! Oh my goodness. These are both true beauties. Thanks so much for joining in and showing off your beautiful quilts.
What a great quilt! Love the layout and really love the color palette!
Wonderful and inspired quilts! Gorgeous, both of them... One can never have too many star quilts in my opinion! How exciting to have an Iditarod quilt! :) Warm greetings from faraway Cyprus,
Valentina
Very beautiful cheerful darling, Quilt work gratulálok ;)
Wonderful work!!
Debbie I love the colours in this quilt and your quilting. I have checked out your other blog posts and it is amazing how similar our tastes are.
Wow, beautiful work :-)
Very spectacular, congratulations:))
Gorgeous quilts! I love, love, love how you connected those Bali Sea Star!
Those are both BIG quilts and both very beautiful. I really love how unique the design is in the Bali Sea Star version. EQ 7 sounds fun. Too bad it doesn't work on Macs.
ps your little Bernese Mountain dog is SO cute!
Wow! Such beautiful quilts! I love how you linked the stars together...really makes the quilt!
I don't know where Eagle River is but all I have seen of Alaska is beautiful. The quilt you made somehow reminds me of being there. It is beautiful.
I'm still amazed by your setting for these blocks. It's a real beauty!
This is a lovely quilt. I love the fabrics you have used and the design works so well. Great quilt!
I'm so glad I did stop by to see your quilt. It is an amazing quilt I love both of them. Your dogs look awesome too!! We loved Alaska when we visited there a few years ago. Of course I found a quilt shop I think 2.
I love how you set the blocks. It's a beautiful quilt.
Beautiful quilts! I love the way you 're-set' the blocks. Makes a fabulous quilt.
I love both the quilts and how you set the same block differently.
Those are stunning and I now have to buy that book!
So beautifully put together. Wonderful colors and fabrics. The design with the connections is just great. Thanks so much for sharing and have a great day
