A Flimsy Finish and UFOs to Tackle

The borders are done! Now I have four quilt tops to take back to Alaska for quilting.

What to work on now? I guess I will work on another UFO. I have all the fusible appliqué in place...just need to outline with a black blanket stitch by machine.

I will also work on getting the fusible appliqué done of this UFO too.

I am down to my last two yards of fusible web from a box of 25 yards. I spent all last summer searching on the internet for a new box but it was impossible to find. If anyone knows where to order this...let me know!

The stuff we use in Germany is called vliesofix. You can find it here: http://www.quiltzauberei.de/Ausverkauf-Schnaeppchen/ZUBEHOER-SCHNAEPPCHEN-SONSTIGES/Vliesofix-Bondaweb-Wonderweb-Klebevlies-90cm-x-30m-Rolle.html?force_sid=5ce4d8058bd789ba1c3dd811e0d0731e&listtype=search&searchparam=vliesofix

The same shop has something they replaced your product with:

http://www.quiltzauberei.de/Zubehoer-Garne-Kurzwaren/Vlies-Patchworkvliese-Einlagen/Pellon-EZ-Steam-II-2-Klebevlies-Meterware.html

They deliver to France ;). But maybe there is something like this in France as well?
Greetings from Germany, Inka

Unfortunately Steam a Seam is no longer. I am not positive but either the glue or the paper company they used went out of business and until they find a company that delivers the same quality of glue or paper, they are making no more. Eventually they will put it back on the market.

We found some a quilt shop while traveling and bought all they had for our quilting group to share.

This was addressed by our LQS at a meeting this past week...Evidently, Warm & Natural (they own Steam a Seam) has found a company that can make the paper backing to specs and they expect to have the product back to their suppliers by this summer...Our LQS says they hope to have their backorder filled sometime this summer....yeah!

You want more tops to quilt? L0L

I used to buy something similar from Pellon in Hancok fabric or Jo Ann, you can buy the all bolt with a good coupon...

Your top came together beautifully. I really like that border. Templates might be worth it! I had no idea about the Steam a seam situation! I sometimes use wonder under in place of steam a seam with good results.

I've heard the same story about the company and the paper issue. I haven't been as happy with any of the other fusible web products on the market so I'm really hoping the company can get the product back out on the market.
